Further Information
Goulburn-Murray Water (G-MW), the Resource Manager for northern Victorian water systems, today announced small increases in the seasonal allocations for the Murray and Goulburn systems. The Murray system received a 2% improvement to be 35% of high-reliability water shares (HRWS). The seasonal allocation in the Goulburn system was increased by 1% to be 29% HRWS. The other Victorian water systems - Broken, Campaspe, Loddon and Bullarook - remained at zero allocation.
Graeme Hannan, Resource Manager for the Murray and Goulburn systems, said the improvements were indicative of recent weather conditions and ongoing drought management practices. "There hasn't been much inflow recently, with little rain since mid-December and significantly hotter daytime temperatures. The increases announced today have come from small contributions from a range of sources, including inflows and better than worst case river and storage losses."
