Further Information
No increases were possible in the seasonal allocation update announced today by Goulburn-Murray Water (G-MW), the Resource Manager for northern Victorian water systems. The seasonal allocation in the Murray system remains at 35% of high-reliability water shares (HRWS) and the Goulburn system allocation stays at 29% HRWS. The other Victorian water systems - Broken, Campaspe, Loddon and Bullarook - remain at zero allocation.
"There hasn't been any productive rainfall since the last allocation announcement, and the extreme temperatures of the past week have dried catchments and increased operating requirements," said Graeme Hannan, Resource Manager for the Murray and Goulburn systems. "The possibility of allocation improvements in coming weeks will depend on cooler weather and rainfall."
