Further Information
Goulburn-Murray Water (G-MW), as Resource Manager for northern Victorian water systems, today announced an increased allocation in the Goulburn system, but no change in any other systems.
The Goulburn system allocation is 31% of high-reliability water shares (HRWS), which is an increase of 1%. The Murray system seasonal allocation stays at 35% HRWS and all other northern Victorian water systems remain at zero allocation.
"The improvement in the Goulburn system has come from operating efficiencies in the G-MW channel system," said Graeme Hannan, Resource Manager for the Goulburn system. "Deliveries to this point in the season are less than we had planned for, and this has combined with the milder temperatures of the past two weeks to reduce system operating requirements. The same cannot be said for the Murray system, where river transmission losses have remained very high."
