Further Information
Goulburn-Murray Water (G-MW), Resource Manager for northern Victorian water systems, today announced seasonal allocation increases for the Goulburn, Broken, Campaspe and Loddon water systems.
The Goulburn and Loddon system allocations have both increased from 80% of high-reliability water shares (HRWS) to 85% HRWS. Campaspe system allocations have increased to 20% of low-reliability water shares (LRWS) in addition to 100% HRWS. The Broken system allocation has increased to 31% LRWS.
The seasonal allocation for the Murray remains unchanged at 100% HRWS. The Barmah-Millewa Forest has been fully repaid and reserves are now being set aside for next season.
"Continued inflows since the last assessment has contributed to the allocation increase announced today." said G-MW's Resource Manager, Graeme Hannan. "Water continues to flow in the rivers and creeks in the upper catchment and recent rain has helped maintain these flows. The benefits from the rain which fell in the last few days of October will be factored into the next assessment."
