Further Information
Goulburn-Murray Water (G-MW), Resource Manager for northern Victorian water systems, today announced that allocations were unchanged.
"Inflows in the Murray, Goulburn and Loddon systems continue to build the volume needed to secure next season's allocations," said G-MW's Acting Resource Manager, Mark Bailey. "The volumes in Dartmouth Reservoir and Lake Eildon are still rising as inflows exceed demand. With low deliveries so far this season, there are existing commitments to be supplied and the prospects for allocating low-reliability water shares are low."
Customers participating in the water trading market are reminded that the Murray-Darling Basin Authority has relaxed the rule controlling allocation trade from upstream of the Barmah Choke to downstream users. The ability to trade across the Barmah Choke will be regularly reviewed by the Murray-Darling Basin Authority and the relaxation may be lifted at any time during the season.
The next and final allocation announcement for the 2010/11 season will be issued on Friday 1 April 2011.
