Further Information

The Resource Manager for northern Victoria today announced increased 2015/16 seasonal determinations in the Murray, Goulburn and Loddon systems.

The Murray system increases by 8 per cent to 50 per cent of high-reliability water shares (HRWS). The Goulburn system increases by 8 per cent to 58 per cent HRWS and the Loddon system increases from 41 per cent HRWS to 44 per cent HRWS.

Resource Manager Mark Bailey said the Broken and Bullarook systems remained unchanged on zero per cent HRWS and the Campaspe system remained unchanged on 50 per cent HRWS.

"Better inflows in the Murray and Goulburn systems over the past two weeks allowed the increase in seasonal determinations announced today," Dr Bailey said. "Inflows into the other systems remain very low. The increase in the Loddon system came from conditions being slightly better than assumed in our previous assessment.

"On a positive note, the early season reserves for the 2016/17 season are fully established in the Murray and Goulburn systems now that the seasonal determination in both systems is at 50 per cent or greater."
