The Resource Manager for northern Victoria today announced an update of 2025/26 seasonal determinations.
The Murray system seasonal determination increases from 73 per cent of high-reliability water shares (HRWS) to 80 per cent HRWS. The Goulburn and Loddon systems increase from 47 per cent HRWS to 51 per cent HRWS.
The Broken system increases from 17 per cent HRWS to 22 per cent HRWS.
The Campaspe system remains at 100 per cent HRWS. The Bullarook system is unchanged at 0 per cent HRWS.
Resource Manager Mark Bailey said the improvements came from continued flows into the major storages.
“Rainfall since the last update has kept the flows into the storages above our conservative estimates,” Dr Bailey said. “This provided additional water for allocation.
“As the Goulburn seasonal determination is now above 50 per cent HRWS, the early season reserve is now fully established. All resource improvements will now contribute to seasonal determination increases.
“There continues to be small improvements in the Bullarook system but not enough to secure the operating requirements.
“More rainfall and flows are needed to close the gap to a seasonal determination.”

Trading opportunities
Allocation trade from New South Wales to Victoria is limited to the lesser of a net annual volume of 200 GL or a volume that keeps the risk of spill in Victoria’s share of both Hume and Dartmouth reservoirs below 50 per cent. The current risk of spill from Victoria’s share of Hume and Dartmouth allows 200 GL of allocation trade from New South Wales to Victoria. The volume available for trade is updated monthly with each risk of spill announcement.
