Victorian Murray seasonal determination increases to 100 per cent high-reliability water shares

Monday 17 November, 2025

The Resource Manager for northern Victoria today announced an update of 2025/26 seasonal determinations.

The Murray system seasonal determination increases from 93 per cent of high-reliability water shares (HRWS) to 100 per cent HRWS. The Goulburn and Loddon systems increase from 57 per cent HRWS to 62 per cent HRWS.

The Broken system increases from 32 per cent HRWS to 37 per cent HRWS. The Campaspe system remains at 100 per cent HRWS.

The Bullarook system is unchanged at 0 per cent HRWS.

Resource Manager Mark Bailey said rainfall in early November enabled more water to be allocated.

“Flows into the storages increased after rain in the first half of November,” Dr Bailey said. “The Murray system improvement was enough to move the seasonal determination to 100 per cent HRWS.

“Flows into the Bullarook system storages are occurring and the gap to a seasonal determination is reducing. However, more rainfall and flows are needed to continue the trend.”

The seasonal determinations for northern Victorian water systems on Monday 17 November are:

Water System High-Reliability Water Share Low-Reliability Water Share
Murray 100% 0%
Broken 37% 0%
Goulburn 62% 0%
Campaspe 100% 0%
Loddon 62% 0%
Bullarook 0% 0%
