Further Information
Goulburn-Murray Water (G-MW), Resource Manager for northern Victorian water systems, today released the final seasonal allocations for 2008/09.
The availability of an additional 1% increased the final seasonal allocation in the Goulburn system to 33% of high-reliability water shares (HRWS). There are no allocation changes in the other systems. The final Murray system seasonal allocation is 35% HRWS and there is no allocation in the Broken, Campaspe, Loddon, and Bullarook systems.
"Inflow from the rainfall event in mid-March and system operating efficiencies have produced the minor improvement in the Goulburn system announced today," said Graeme Hannan, G-MW Resource Manager. "No change was possible in the Murray system because of high river transmission losses and poor inflows."
"The resource improvements that occur between now and the end of June 2009 will be assigned towards system operations and allocations in the 2009/10 season," said Mr Hannan.
