Further Information
The Resource Manager for northern Victorian regulated water systems today announced that seasonal allocations were unchanged.
“There are still large volumes required before allocations to low-reliability water shares (LRWS) can be announced in the Murray, Goulburn and Loddon systems,” said Resource Manager Dr Mark Bailey. “The volume required before allocations to LRWS can be announced is reducing. However, at this time of the year it is unlikely that resources will improve enough to enable LRWS allocations to be made in these three systems.”
Customers participating in the water trading market are reminded that the Murray-Darling Basin Authority has relaxed the rule controlling allocation trade from upstream of the Barmah Choke to downstream users. The ability to trade across the Barmah Choke will be regularly reviewed by the Murray-Darling Basin Authority and the relaxation may be lifted at any time during the season.
The next allocation announcement, and an outlook for 2012/13 seasonal allocations, will be issued on Wednesday 15 February 2012.
